About Me

My photo
Living close to what matters, I strive to remember that the greatest story of all is the one I am living and so to live full and well. This is certainly a work in progress!I am a mixed media artist, healer, mom, wife, muser, lover of the natural world. I am learning always about how to listen with care to what's inside that wants to be expressed, brought out into the light of day...to the stories and adventures of people I care about, and to the folks I share this world with, to honor life's impulses and flow and act to make real the dreams I hold within. I hope to share with you the journey of life, full of creative juice, magic, mystery, and the unexpected!

the thin places

this is a post from almost a month ago that got lost in the blogger glitch and it's one i want to share and ost more on so here you go....

my wish for you
is a homecoming in this life.
a coming in out of the cold;
a drying off the icy rain's touch.

in the holy reliquary
of childhood memory
may you find there the unshakable truth
of your preciousness.

may you remember the cool and padded graces
of your wet feet against stone.

in the middle of a long night,
a single burning light
serving as your peace,

may you fold back the pocket
holding your slights,
your jilted times,
your feelings of betrayal,

and discover small diamonds there,

created from the crushed
coal
of your hates and rage.

may you taste resurrection

without the need of dying for it.

a new life. when i make my art on some level i know the messages are as much for me as they are for you-my friends, my loved ones, and my customers. looking back on yesterday ( remember this is aug23rd!) i see how much i am
influenced by the spirit of life that is woven into everything we are and do. so "new life" really is a perfect message for me right now. i think it's time to make a canvas just for me to replace the "new day" one i have on my desk! but back to yesterday-recounting my intimate encounters with spirit to another person or audience is not something i've been in the habit of doing for alot of reasons, all fearful ones, with the biggest being what will they think? for many years now i've had what i would describe as visionary experiences .the "thin places" as frank mac eown, author of the mist filled path; celtic wisdom for exiles, wanderers, and seekers, calls them. encounters with the places where mundane and divine meet, earth and sky, flesh and spirit. in my own little private world i have accepted these meetings as "normal" at least for someone like me, who in my mind has been different from the general population, exactly because such things are normal! i'm right now processing how to go about telling this story and will be sharing more with you very soon.

for who will u be if not ur whole self?
a precious gem contains facets, each beautiful
but all the more so
when seen as one
glittering
away in the sun

time to be seen
time to see

until next time thinking of you....♥

Headed South

Old Company Store in Wareham, Ma is the newest shoppe to carry Art For Your Heart mixed media canvas! It is a sweet destination stop complete with a pond and bench under a shade tree to sit a spell if you're so inclined. The shop features all kinds of special fav's; skin and body care goodies, candles, incense, stonewall kitchen yummies, old fashioned style candies, jewelry, scarves, bags, books, jams, baked good mixes.....cape cod themed items, home decor... Cindi Assad one of the three owners (a mom and sister team) shared about how much Old Company loves to carry local and handmade selections and I feel like AFYH has found another perfect home. As an artist there are no better words I could hear!

and in the gallery where AFYH will be displayed, you'll find none other than the Kelly Rae Roberts line! How magical to have just completed her e-course and then end up side by side with our creations! Here are some shots of the gallery...
The shoppe meanders and goes on with varied themes, don't let these pics. fool you..this is just the gallery..Do visit them soon when you're in the mood for something truly unique...tell Sandy, Cindi and Shari I send smiles from the North!
